How to use canned replies in WhatsApp Web

Anyone doing support over WhatsApp types the same sentence twenty times a day: opening hours, payment details, the quote template. Zapkit stores those answers and puts each one three keystrokes away, behind a slash shortcut.

Step by step

  1. Install Zapkit and open WhatsApp Web.
  2. Save the reply and pick a shortcut, for example /quote.
  3. In the message box, type the shortcut and hit space. The text drops in.

Why a shortcut and not a menu

A menu takes your hand off the keyboard and costs more time than retyping. The slash shortcut keeps the flow of someone handling three conversations at once.

You can still edit before sending

The text lands in the box, it is not sent. You adjust the client name or the amount and send it yourself.

It kills the notepad on the side

The usual workaround is a file open next to the browser with the standard texts. It works, costs one alt-tab per message, and is where information goes stale.
